Kelly G.'s Biography

“Stumble out of bed, kiss Steve “Goodbye” for the day at the door, 30 minutes later showered and ready! Wake up Jon & Elliott for school, throw in a load of laundry, make sure the dirty dishes are in dishwasher, tell Elliott to get out of the shower, straighten the living room, Jon ready and good to go…Elliott please get out of the shower we are leaving in 5 minutes! Shut off all the lights...grab the kids breakfast to take to Grandma’s before they catch the bus…Get Rusty her I’m leaving you and feel so horrible about it Treat…now Elliott! And exactly :55 minutes later…drive!”

After that every morning routine, nothing is consistent in a day in the life of Kelly G.

Kelly is the youngest of 7 children, born and raised in Birdseye, IN. One of her fondest memories from her school days is her 2nd grade Spelling Bee when she placed 2nd by misspelling the word rabbit as in Eddie not Bunny! That could have been an indication that she would eventually end up playing his music on the radio and even getting to meet him and bring him on stage for a concert.

During her senior year of High School Kelly was in the right place at the right time to meet up with the legendary “Big Bill Love” and got a shot at a job in radio as a personality on WBKR that turned into a career almost 20 years later is still strong. Playing the music she grew up with comes second nature to Kelly who loves to entertain her mid-day listeners with news and gossip of their favorite country music stars, as long as they don’t mind hearing stories about her two boys, husband or anyone else in the family!

“The Mid-Day Show is so laid back, I have a lot of fun with the listeners, we tell each other stories about our day to day lives, I share so much with them, but especially about our kids. I get to be a Mom and work at a job I love and every once in while a listener calls and tells me how I keep them going through their day and it’s all worth it!”
